The government of Lagos has ordered all schools in the state to shut down immediately due to the rapidly intensiveness of the ENDSARS protest.
This announcement was first made by the Head of Public Affairs of the Ministry of Education, Kayode Abayomi.
In the statement, it is revealed that the schools has been asked to shut down because the tension being generated by the ENDSARS protest was getting high.
The statement read:
“THE LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT HAS DIRECTED ALL PUPILS/STUDENTS IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS TO STAY AT HOME FOLLOWING THE TENSION GENERATED BY THE ANTI-SARS PROTESTS.
A NEW DATE OF RESUMPTION FOR ALL CLASSES WILL BE ANNOUNCED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
THE SAFETY OF THE PUPILS/STUDENTS, PARENTS AND ALL STAFF WORKING IN SCHOOLS IS PARAMOUNT AT THIS CRITICAL PERIOD”.
However, a stern warning has been given to parents to watch their kids so that they do not become a tool of offense in the ongoing ENDSARS protest.
